Sheldon); a draft with corrections in Bancroft's handwriting, included.

Lionel Allen Sheldon was a U.S. Representative from Louisiana and was Governor of New Mexico Territory from 1881 to 1885. He moved to Los Angeles, California in 1888 and died in Pasadena in 1917. Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
